Russian Combat Losses Exceed 812,000 Soldiers

As of January 15, 2025, Russian combat losses in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine are reported to be approximately 812,670 soldiers, with 1,580 casualties occurring in just the last day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Throughout the conflict, Ukrainian forces have also destroyed significant amounts of Russian military equipment, including nearly 10,000 tanks and over 20,000 armored combat vehicles. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense noted that in 2024 alone, Russia faced record losses, with December alone accounting for nearly 49,000 soldiers. Reports indicate that Russia is attempting to conceal the extent of its losses, particularly those involving private military companies and foreign troops. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense claims that Ukrainian forces suffered over 460 casualties and significant equipment losses in the Kursk region within the same 24-hour period. The battle continues as both sides engage in ongoing military operations.
