Sarandos emphasized that while the series is inspired by true events, it includes dramatized elements, stating, "It was no one’s intent to use a label recklessly" regarding the 'true story' tag. He expressed pride in Gadd's handling of the story, despite acknowledging the ongoing debate about its classification. The show, which follows a comedian's experience with a stalker, has sparked legal controversy after the real-life counterpart claimed misrepresentation. In addition to supporting 'Baby Reindeer,' Sarandos noted that Netflix remains committed to producing original content in the UK. He also shared his admiration for the Emmy-winning series 'The Bear,' which airs on Disney+.
