Parents Arrested for Murder of Adopted Son

A Moreno Valley couple, 51-year-old Alejandra Marin and 59-year-old Juan Sanchez Moreno, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, torture, and child abuse following the death of their 10-year-old adoptive son. Deputies responded to a report of a child in distress on Thursday at their home, where they found the boy in medical distress and later pronounced dead at a hospital. An initial investigation indicated possible signs of neglect and abuse, prompting the involvement of the Riverside Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit and Central Homicide Unit. The couple is currently being held without bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center, with an initial court date set for Tuesday.
