Heidi Zuckerman to Step Down as CEO of OC Museum of Art in December

Heidi Zuckerman, CEO and director of the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA), will step down at the end of her contract in December after leading the institution since 2021. Zuckerman oversaw the completion and opening of OCMA’s new $93 million, 53,000-square-foot campus at Costa Mesa’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts, which dramatically increased museum attendance to 500,000 visitors in two years—twelve times more than at its previous location. Her tenure was marked by significant achievements, including the acquisition of over 100 new works, critically acclaimed exhibitions, and securing funding to offer free admission for a decade. Zuckerman expressed pride in making art more accessible and emphasized her belief that art should be a universal right. She plans to focus on her media company and podcast, while assisting OCMA in its search for her successor.
