Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated a workshop aimed at assisting higher educational institutions in formulating their Institutional Development Plans (IDP) in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The workshop, attended by around 200 heads of institutions, emphasized the need for IDPs to extend beyond documentation to effectively contribute to national aims and youth aspirations. Pradhan highlighted the goal of upgrading 5000 institutions into Centres of Excellence focusing on entrepreneurship, skill development, and world-class research. Additionally, the event marked the release of the UGC Compendium of Regulations, a comprehensive resource consolidating UGC rules from 1957 to December 2023, intended to guide institutions in their IDP development. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India through enhanced educational frameworks. The workshop was held at the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) in New Delhi.
