Airbnb Hosts Gladiator Event at Colosseum

In anticipation of the release of Ridley Scott's 'Gladiator II', Airbnb is offering a unique experience at the Colosseum in Rome, where guests can immerse themselves in a gladiatorial adventure. This experience, part of Airbnb's Icons series, allows visitors to don historically accurate armor and participate in reenactments of ancient Roman battles, guided by a 'master of ceremonies'. Set to take place on May 7 and 8, 2025, the event will accommodate up to 16 guests per session and is free of charge, although participants must cover their own travel expenses. This marks the first time the Colosseum will host such an after-dark event, rekindling its history as a venue for combat. The experience aligns with the film’s themes, as Gladiator II features grand scenes including a naval battle reenacted in the Colosseum, showcasing the spectacle of ancient Roman entertainment. Reservations for this extraordinary event open on November 27, 2024.
