Israeli Strikes Kill Two Palestinian Journalists in Gaza, Death Toll Tops 230

Two Palestinian journalists, Hussam al-Adlouni and Fadi Khalifa, were killed in separate Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, bringing the total number of journalists killed since the start of Israel's military campaign in October 2023 to 231. Al-Adlouni, along with his wife and three children, died in a strike on a tent camp for displaced people in al-Mawasi, an area repeatedly targeted despite being designated a safe zone by the Israeli army. Khalifa was killed while inspecting his home in the al-Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City. The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate condemned these killings as part of a systematic Israeli policy to silence journalists and obstruct the truth, violating international laws protecting media workers during conflicts. Since the offensive began, over 58,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, with thousands more injured, while global media rights organizations have called for investigations into these attacks. Israel faces international legal challenges, including war crimes charges from the International Criminal Court and a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
