Ludwig Season 2 Begins Filming for BritBox, Expands International Reach

The British detective comedy-drama Ludwig, starring David Mitchell and Anna Maxwell Martin, has begun filming its highly anticipated second season following its successful debut. The show, created and written by Mark Brotherhood and produced by Big Talk Studios in collaboration with That Mitchell and Webb Company, was the BBC's biggest scripted comedy launch since 2018 and achieved the #1 season premiere in total viewership across BritBox North America in 2025. Season two continues the story of John 'Ludwig' Taylor, now an official Crime Scene Consultant for the Cambridge Police Authority, who is forbidden from using police resources to investigate his missing twin brother James but persists nonetheless. The cast returns with several new regulars, including Mark Bonnar and Sian Clifford, and the series is set to maintain its blend of puzzle-solving and humor. Filming is taking place in London and Cambridge, with six episodes planned, though no release date has been announced yet.
