At the 66th Grammy Awards 2024, the Indian jazz band Shakti, which includes Shankar Mahadevan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, and others, clinched the Best Global Music Album award for their album 'This Moment'. This marks their first Grammy win in their 50-year history. Rakesh Chaurasia also secured a Grammy for his contribution to the 'Pashto' album. The band was formed by John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, Vikku Vinayakram, L. Shankar, and the late Ramnad Raghavan, and had reunions in 1997 and 2020.
