Winnipeg Jets' Connor Hellebuyck Wins Hart, Vezina Trophies
Connor Hellebuyck of the Winnipeg Jets won both the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP and the Vezina Trophy as the best goaltender, becoming the first goalie to achieve this double since Carey Price in 2015 and only the sixth goalie in history to do so. Hellebuyck led the Jets to their first Presidents' Trophy with a 47-12-3 record, posting a .925 save percentage and a 2.00 goals-against average, while also winning the William Jennings Trophy for the fewest goals allowed. He edged out finalists Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers, the Rocket Richard Trophy winner for most goals, and Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who led the league in scoring with 122 points and won the Ted Lindsay Award as most outstanding player. Kucherov previously won the Hart Trophy in 2019, while Draisaitl was the 2020 MVP, making the 2025 Hart race a showdown between dominant players from different positions. Hellebuyck also won his third career and second consecutive Vezina Trophy, solidifying his status as one of the league's elite goaltenders. Other awards included Anze Kopitar winning the Lady Byng for sportsmanship, with many honors announced as surprise presentations before Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final.
