Six Players Officially Qualify for 2025 US Ryder Cup Team
Six American golfers have officially qualified for the 2025 Ryder Cup team set to compete at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York from September 26-28. The automatic qualifiers are Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Harris English, Xander Schauffele, Bryson DeChambeau, and Russell Henley, all securing their spots through the U.S. points system accumulated from 2024 through the 2025 BMW Championship. Scheffler, the world No. 1, leads with multiple major wins including the PGA Championship and The Open Championship in 2025, while Spaun, Schauffele, and DeChambeau also captured major titles contributing to their qualifications. Henley and English round out the group, with Henley making his Ryder Cup debut. The team will be completed by six captain's picks announced by Captain Keegan Bradley on August 27, who may also select himself as a player captain, a rare occurrence in the past 62 years. Meanwhile, European team qualifying continues, with their captain Luke Donald set to announce six picks following the British Masters.
