Modi Attends BIMSTEC Summit in Thailand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Thailand to attend the 6th BIMSTEC Summit, focused on economic collaboration and regional cooperation. Modi will meet with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to discuss enhancing India-Thailand relations in various sectors. The summit, themed 'BIMSTEC – Prosperous, Resilient, and Open,' aims to strengthen ties among member countries, including the signing of the Agreement on Maritime Cooperation. Modi is also scheduled to meet Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida, and visit Wat Pho, a significant temple. Meanwhile, the attendance of Myanmar's junta leader at the summit remains uncertain due to a recent earthquake in Myanmar. Separately, an Indian Air Force Jaguar aircraft crashed during a night mission, resulting in the death of one pilot and an inquiry has been initiated.
