Emirates Expands Boeing 777 Freighter Fleet

Emirates SkyCargo has expanded its fleet with a new order of five Boeing 777 Freighters, bringing its total orders of Boeing widebody aircraft to 249, which includes 14 freighters. This addition is part of Emirates' strategic plan to nearly double its current fleet of 11 freighters to 21 in response to booming demand for air cargo services. The Boeing 777 Freighter is noted for its long range and high capacity, capable of flying 9,200 kilometers and carrying 102 tons, enhancing operational efficiency for connecting key global markets. Emirates continues to evaluate future fleet expansion options, considering both Boeing and Airbus models, and remains committed to converting 10 passenger Boeing 777-300ERs to freighters in collaboration with Israel Aerospace Industries. Boeing anticipates a growing market for freighters, with an expected 2,845 new freighters entering service over the next 20 years to meet global trade demands.
