Seat-Sharing Tensions Rise Ahead of Elections

Tensions within the INDIA alliance are escalating, particularly among the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) as they contest the allocation of seats ahead of the upcoming Jharkhand elections. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress have offered RJD only seven seats, which has caused dissatisfaction and led to critical meetings among party leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav. Meanwhile, the BJP-led NDA has finalized its seat-sharing arrangement, with the BJP claiming 68 out of 81 seats. In Maharashtra, the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance is nearing a consensus on seat-sharing for the upcoming assembly elections, while the Samajwadi Party is also engaging in discussions. Both alliances are preparing for closely contested elections, with polling scheduled for November 13 and 20, and results to be announced on November 23. The election process has officially commenced with nominations opening for Jharkhand constituencies, intensifying the urgency for finalizing seat allocations.
