Gabby Douglas Named to 2025 Olympic Hall of Fame
Gabby Douglas, the first Black woman to win an Olympic all-around gymnastics title, will be inducted into the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs on July 12, 2025. Douglas, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, made history at the 2012 London Olympics with individual all-around and team golds, and earned another team gold at the 2016 Rio Games. She joins notable inductees including Serena Williams, Allyson Felix, and coach Mike Krzyzewski. Despite a recent injury that led her to withdraw from a 2024 Olympic comeback attempt, Douglas remains hopeful of competing at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Her trailblazing achievements have inspired future generations of gymnasts, including Simone Biles. Douglas grew up in Virginia Beach and trained at Excalibur Gymnastics.
