EasyGroup Launches easyBitcoin App Offering Bitcoin Access, Rewards for U.S. Retail Investors

easyGroup, known for brands like easyJet and easyHotel, has launched easyBitcoin.app in partnership with Uphold to simplify buying and holding bitcoin for retail users. The app offers multiple incentives including a 1% welcome bonus on recurring buys, 2% annual rewards for long-term holders, and 4.5% APY on USD balances paid out in bitcoin, backed by $2.5 million in FDIC insurance. This launch reflects growing confidence in bitcoin as an investment, with a recent Uphold survey showing 88% of U.S. respondents trust bitcoin to grow their wealth over the next decade, ranking it highly among investment options. easyGroup founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou emphasized the app’s goal to democratize bitcoin investing by lowering transaction costs and making it accessible to the general public. The app is initially targeting U.S. users, with plans to release a U.K. version later this year. The initiative also taps into trends showing younger generations increasingly view bitcoin as a savings alternative amid low returns from traditional accounts.
