Leeds Finalize €20m Anton Stach Transfer from Hoffenheim
Leeds United have agreed on a transfer deal exceeding €20 million (£17.3 million) with Hoffenheim for German midfielder Anton Stach, who will sign a four-year contract with Leeds. The 26-year-old, who has been capped twice by Germany, is expected to strengthen Leeds' midfield alongside Sean Longstaff, following the club's active summer transfer window that also included signings like defenders Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and forward Lukas Nmecha. Stach, known for his physical presence at 6ft 4in and defensive capabilities, will provide versatility and defensive solidity, having played both as a centre-back and midfielder for Hoffenheim. Hoffenheim’s sporting director highlighted recent squad reductions, including loan deals for other players, reflecting the club’s ongoing adjustments. The transfer deal includes a base fee of €18 million plus €2 million in bonuses, with Leeds aiming for an immediate impact in the Premier League after their promotion. VfB Stuttgart was reportedly interested in Stach, but Leeds secured his signature following intensive negotiations.
