Brandon Roy Jr., son of former NBA All-Star and Washington Huskies legend Brandon Roy, has committed to play basketball at the University of Washington, following in his father's footsteps. The 6-foot-2 guard from Garfield High School in Seattle announced his decision on Instagram, expressing gratitude to Coach Danny Sprinkle and his parents. Roy Jr. will wear his father's retired No. 3 jersey as he joins the team as a walk-on. His addition is part of a significant roster overhaul under Sprinkle, who is rebuilding the program after a disappointing previous season with several four-star recruits and transfers. Roy Jr.'s commitment also reflects a national trend of sons of former NBA players, such as Bryce James (Arizona) and the Boozer twins (Duke), joining major college programs. He helped Garfield to a strong finish in the state tournament despite injury, and his arrival fills the Huskies' roster to the new 15-player limit.
