Trustee Plans Liquidation of Alex Jones' Infowars and Parent Company Amid Bankruptcy Proceedings
A court-appointed bankruptcy trustee, Christopher Murray, has filed a motion to liquidate Alex Jones' media platform Infowars and its parent company, Free Speech Systems (FSS), to pay the $1.5 billion in judgments owed to families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims. The motion seeks to conduct an 'orderly wind-down' of the company's operations and inventory. Murray has requested a temporary hold on the families' efforts to collect money to prevent a 'value-destructive money grab' and ensure an orderly process. Jones, who filed for bankruptcy in 2022, has stated that Infowars may operate for a few more months but has hinted at continuing his broadcasts in another format. The liquidation follows multiple defamation suits against Jones for spreading false claims about the 2012 shooting.
