Canadian Father Charged After Daughter Found Dead New York

Luciano Frattolin, a Montreal-based entrepreneur, has been charged with the second-degree murder and concealment of the corpse of his 9-year-old daughter, Melina Frattolin, whose body was found in Ticonderoga, New York. Melina was reported missing by her father on the night of July 19, after they were seen together earlier that evening and Melina had spoken to her mother by phone. Authorities allege that Frattolin murdered Melina during their vacation in the United States, and discrepancies in his initial report claiming a possible abduction led to his arrest. The case has prompted an intense investigation and an Amber Alert was issued before Melina’s body was discovered. Frattolin is currently held at Essex County Jail awaiting arraignment.
