Boulder was chosen for its vibrant arts scene, natural beauty, and ample venues, after evaluating over 100 potential cities. The city offers a dynamic mix of art, technology, and college town vibes, suitable for the festival's growth and continuation of its alpine aesthetic. Park City, despite its picturesque setting, has become too small to accommodate the festival's growing scale, leading to logistical challenges. Boulder’s capacity to host events across its downtown and the University of Colorado Boulder campus, with Pearl Street Mall as a central gathering space, played a crucial role in the decision. The move aims to ensure inclusivity and sustainability, diverging from Utah's conservative politics.
