Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to plant 36.46 crore saplings across the state in a massive green initiative, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath leading the effort by planting saplings in Lucknow. This plantation campaign aims to enhance the green cover, with strict security measures and geo-tagging of planting sites in place. The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, emphasizing public participation in environmental conservation. Over the past seven years, Uttar Pradesh has already planted more than 168 crore saplings, contributing to increased greenery across the state. Special arrangements and guidelines have been set up, including in Ghaziabad, to ensure the success of this ambitious afforestation project.
