IHG Announces Return of Crowne Plaza to Okinawa

IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan has signed a management agreement with BHR Okinawa Management GK, a subsidiary of Berjaya Land Berhad, to reintroduce the ANA Crowne Plaza brand to Okinawa with the ANA Crowne Plaza Resort Okinawa Uruma Hills set to open in early 2025. The 123-room resort, a rebranding of the ANSA Okinawa Resort, will undergo renovations to incorporate the Crowne Plaza brand’s hallmarks. This partnership is built on the successful collaboration between IHG and Berjaya in Vietnam and marks their first joint project in Japan. The resort will feature amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, gym, and access to local attractions like the Zakimi Gusuku Castle. Both companies view this as a strategic move to enhance guest experiences and expand IHG's footprint in Japan. Abhijay Sandilya, CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan, stated that this agreement is a significant step towards doubling their portfolio in Japan.
