Jason Gillespie Resigns as Pakistan Cricket Coach

Jason Gillespie, the former head coach of Pakistan's cricket team, has revealed that poor communication and management decisions led to his resignation just months into his two-year contract. He cited being blindsided by the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) decision to not retain high-performance coach Tim Nielsen as a major factor, feeling that his role had been severely diminished to merely conducting catch practice. Gillespie expressed frustration over a lack of involvement in team selection and planning, which made it difficult for him to fulfill his coaching responsibilities effectively. He emphasized the need for clear communication between coaches and the board, stating that without this, his ability to lead was compromised. After overseeing a successful series win against England, the abrupt changes and lack of support ultimately prompted him to step down ahead of the Test series in South Africa. Aqib Javed has been appointed as the interim coach following Gillespie's departure.
