Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha was involved in a minor road accident in Eluru district but emerged unhurt. The incident occurred when the driver of her escort vehicle braked suddenly to avoid hitting a motorcycle, causing Anitha's car to rear-end it. Neither the minister nor her security personnel sustained any injuries, and both vehicles only suffered minor damage. Following the accident, Anitha continued her journey to Alampuram in another vehicle and attended an official program as scheduled. Leaders of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) expressed their concern and relief over her safety after the incident. The minister also participated in Kargil war victory celebrations later that day.
