A chowk named after the late actress Sridevi was inaugurated by her husband, Boney Kapoor, and daughter, Khushi Kapoor, in Lokhandwala, Mumbai, on October 12, six years after her passing. The chowk, located near Sridevi's longtime residence at Green Acres Tower, holds sentimental value for the family, with emotional moments captured during the ceremony attended by veteran actress Shabana Azmi. Janhvi Kapoor was unable to attend due to her shooting schedule. Sridevi, renowned for her extensive work across various Indian film industries, tragically died in 2018 after drowning in a bathtub in Dubai. The decision to name the junction was made in recognition of her legacy, reflecting the deep connection residents and the municipality have to her. Boney Kapoor has expressed concerns over the possibility of a biopic on Sridevi's life, emphasizing her desire for privacy.
