Barn Fire in Coconut Creek Kills Horse

A tragic barn fire at Red Stone Ranch in Coconut Creek resulted in the death of one horse and injuries to another early Thursday morning. The fire, reported around 5 a.m., was quickly contained by Coconut Creek Fire Rescue with assistance from Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Rescue and Lauderhill Fire Rescue. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the State Fire Marshal's Office is involved in determining what happened. Fortunately, no human injuries were reported, but the ranch community is mourning the loss of the animal. Aerial footage revealed significant damage to the structure, with the deceased horse covered by a tarp. The ranch, known for educating children about animal care, faces a difficult recovery ahead.
