Pinehurst to Build No. 11 Adjacent to No. 10

Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina has announced plans to build its 11th 18-hole golf course, Pinehurst No. 11, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, with construction beginning later this year and an expected opening in fall 2027. The course will be located at the 900-acre Pinehurst Sandmines property south of the main campus, adjacent to Pinehurst No. 10, which opened in 2024 and was named Golf Digest's Best New Public Course of 2024. No. 11 will feature a more intimate layout shaped by the rugged, reclaimed sand mine terrain, promising a distinct playing experience compared to No. 10's dramatic elevation. The Sandmines project includes new lodging, a pro shop, and a restaurant, all set to open soon to meet record demand from golf travelers. Coore & Crenshaw, known for restoring Pinehurst No. 2, aim to create a course that contrasts with No. 10 while complementing the resort’s offerings. This expansion reinforces Pinehurst's standing as a top American golf destination.
