Emirates NBA Cup Returns for Second Season

The NBA Cup, previously known as the In-Season Tournament, returns for its second year on November 12, now branded as the Emirates NBA Cup due to a new sponsorship deal. The tournament features all 30 NBA teams divided into six groups of five, with each team playing four games during Group Play, which counts towards their regular season record. The top team from each group and two wild card teams will advance to the Knockout Rounds, culminating in a championship game on December 17 in Las Vegas that does not count towards the regular season. New court designs have been introduced to distinguish NBA Cup games, featuring bold colors and patterns. The tournament aims to invigorate interest in NBA matches amid the NFL season and has reportedly generated positive viewership and engagement since its inception. The Los Angeles Lakers will defend their title after winning the inaugural event last year.
