Malcolm-Jamal Warner, known for his iconic role on The Cosby Show, will be seen in his final television performance in the third episode of Fox's Murder in a Small Town Season 2, titled "Mother Love," airing on October 7. Warner plays Richard Buscombe, a protective single father who becomes a suspect in a murder investigation after his ex-wife is killed, with his character wrestling with heartbreak and anger while striving to protect his daughter. The showrunner and executive producer Ian Weir praised Warner's performance as glowing with integrity and revealed that working with him was a delightful experience, calling Warner a leader and a gentleman. Warner tragically died at age 54 in an accidental drowning in Costa Rica this past July, shortly after filming his guest role.
