Genesis Magma Racing Expands Europe Teams, Develops Hypercar for 2026 Le Mans
Genesis Magma Racing is preparing for its debut in the 2026 World Endurance Championship with the GMR-001 LMDh Hypercar, featuring a turbocharged V8 powertrain created by combining two 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four units from Hyundai Motorsport's World Rally Championship technology. The team has established a new race base in Le Castellet, France, near Oreca's factory, which supplies the chassis and parts, to support development and testing. Key management appointments include Anouck Abadie as team manager, Justin Taylor as chief engineer, and Gabriele Tarquini as sporting director, all bringing diverse motorsport experience to complement team principal Cyril Abiteboul and technical director François-Xavier Demaison. Genesis Magma Racing is also competing in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category with drivers Jamie Chadwick, Mathys Jaubert, and three-time Le Mans winner André Lotterer. The brand announced its expansion into new European markets, including France, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands, aligning with its growing motorsport ambitions. This comprehensive approach aims to build a strong foundation for Genesis's entry into endurance racing and future championships.
