Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the 'Trophy Gaurav Yatra' for the Women's Asian Hockey Champions Trophy-2024, which will take place in Rajgir from November 11 to 20. This marks the first time the championship is being hosted in Bihar, with the trophy set to travel through 38 districts and neighboring states like Punjab and Haryana to promote women's sports. The event features six participating countries, including India and China, and aims to inspire youth participation in sports, particularly among women. The Bihar government has allocated a budget of Rs 10 crore for the tournament, showcasing a commitment to developing sports infrastructure, including the newly inaugurated Rajgir Hockey Stadium. Additionally, there is a larger vision to establish Bihar as a sports hub with the Rajgir International Sports Complex, which will host multiple sports disciplines. The trophy tour emphasizes raising awareness and enthusiasm for the upcoming international event.
