Pakistan Announces Squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, marking the first ICC event in the country in 30 years, with matches in Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, while India will play its games in Dubai due to security concerns. Pakistan announced a 15-member squad, led by Mohammad Rizwan, featuring just one specialist spinner, Abrar Ahmed, alongside a strong pace attack. Notably, Saim Ayub is absent due to injury, with Fakhar Zaman, Khushdil Shah, and Faheem Ashraf recalled. Due to logistical challenges, the tournament will forgo traditional opening events like the captain's photoshoot, with an ICC-supported event planned in Lahore instead.
