Curve Expands Partnership with Thales to Enhance NFC Mobile Payments on iOS, Android

Curve, a London-based digital wallet platform with over six million users in Europe, has expanded its collaboration with global technology provider Thales to enhance mobile NFC payments on both iOS and Android devices. This partnership supports the launch of Curve Pay on iOS, enabling contactless payments directly through the Curve app by leveraging Thales' cloud-based D1 platform, which digitises payment cards in real time and integrates seamlessly with existing payment infrastructures. The move positions Curve as a strong competitor to Apple Pay, aiming to reduce transaction costs for banks and empower users with secure, flexible, and convenient payment solutions. The collaboration builds on a longstanding relationship between Curve and Thales, which previously worked together on Huawei Pay powered by Curve, and reflects a shared commitment to secure, user-centric digital payment experiences. Curve’s CEO, Shachar Bialick, emphasized the goal of redefining the digital wallet experience by combining innovation with robust security, while Thales highlights the platform's ability to provide freedom and compliance in mobile payments. The partnership is also supported by Curve’s existing alliances with major brands such as Samsung and PayPal, strengthening its position as a challenger in the fintech space.
