Sundance Institute Honors Michelle Satter at Gala

The Sundance Institute has announced its gala fundraiser, Celebrating Sundance Institute, scheduled for January 24, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley in Utah, to honor Michelle Satter for her dedication to nurturing independent filmmakers. Satter, who has been with Sundance for over 40 years, will be recognized alongside emerging filmmakers Sean Wang, who will receive the Vanguard Award for Fiction for his film 'Dìdi,' and Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie, who will receive the Vanguard Award for Nonfiction for their work on 'Sugarcane.' The event aims to raise funds to support independent artists through various programs and grants. Amanda Kelso, acting CEO of the Sundance Institute, praised Satter's lifelong commitment to supporting underrepresented artists and fostering resilience in the evolving film industry. The 2025 Sundance Film Festival will run from January 23 to February 2, with a selection of films available online from January 30 to February 2.
