Scandic Opens Sustainable 305-Room Hotel in Tromsø

Scandic Hotels has opened its sixth signature hotel, The Dock 69°39, in Tromsø, Norway, nearly doubling its room capacity in the city with 305 new rooms, reinforcing its leading position in the Nordic hotel market. The 12-story, 17,300 square meter hotel is located in the developing Vervet district and features sustainable design elements including carpets made from recycled fishing nets and a heated rooftop running track for year-round use. Certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and built to BREEAM Excellent standards, the hotel offers amenities such as a rooftop bar, wellness area with sauna, and eight conference rooms. The Dock 69°39 is designed to be a natural meeting place for visitors and locals, aligning with Scandic's strategy to meet the growing demand from leisure travelers exploring Northern Norway and Northern Europe. This expansion supports Scandic’s broader growth plans across Scandinavia, including new developments in Sweden, and reflects its commitment to sustainability and enhancing the guest experience.
