Jafer Chohan Joins England Squad for West Indies Tour

Yorkshire leg-spinner Jafer Chohan has received his first England call-up for the white-ball tour of the West Indies, becoming the first graduate of the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA) to join the national squad. The 22-year-old's selection is a testament to SACA's efforts to address the under-representation of British South Asians in professional cricket. Jos Buttler returns as captain after recovering from a calf injury, leading a 14-man squad that includes uncapped players Dan Mousley and John Turner. The tour involves three ODIs and five T20s, with the first match scheduled for October 31 in Antigua. Two players from the Test squad in Pakistan will join the team in the Caribbean after the third Test. Chohan's rise follows an impressive performance in the 2024 Vitality Blast and a new three-year contract with Yorkshire.
