Tom Ahern Signs Two-Year Contract Extension with Munster

Munster Rugby has confirmed that versatile forward Tom Ahern has signed a new two-year contract extension, keeping him with the province until at least 2027. The 24-year-old has made 53 appearances for Munster, scoring 12 tries, and has also been part of the Ireland U20s and Emerging Ireland teams. Ahern's performance in the 2023/24 season was notable, as he made 23 appearances and earned a call-up to the Ireland squad for the Six Nations, though he missed out due to injury. Additionally, Connacht has announced contract extensions for Paul Boyle and Ben Murphy, with Boyle extending for two years and Murphy remaining until the end of the 2025/26 season. Shay McCarthy from Munster's academy will also move up to the senior squad next season after impressing in his initial appearances. Both Boyle and Murphy have made significant contributions to their respective teams, with Boyle being a record try-scorer for Connacht.
