Bradenton Man Dies After Fleeing Sarasota Deputies in Crash
A 31-year-old man from Bradenton, Cody Burrow, died in a single-car crash after fleeing from Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies on Thursday evening. Deputies attempted to stop Burrow at 5:38 p.m. due to an active felony narcotics warrant, but he collided with a Tesla and multiple SCSO vehicles, injuring one deputy. After fleeing the scene, he crashed his Ford F-150 into a utility pole about six miles away at approximately 5:47 p.m., where he was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured deputy was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident. This crash is part of a troubling trend, with hundreds of crashes reported in the area this year.
