Michele Fiore, a former Las Vegas City Councilwoman and current Nye County Justice of the Peace, has been indicted on federal charges of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Fiore allegedly raised over $70,000 in donations intended for a memorial to honor fallen police officers but instead used the funds for personal expenses, including her daughter's wedding, rent, and political campaign costs. The indictment was returned by a federal grand jury on Tuesday, and Fiore faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison for each count if convicted. Fiore, who has denied any wrongdoing, has expressed her eagerness to address the charges in court. The case is currently under investigation by the FBI's Las Vegas Field Office.
