Universal Pictures has secured the film rights to Britney Spears' bestselling memoir, 'The Woman in Me,' in a highly competitive auction. The biopic will be directed by Jon M. Chu, known for 'Wicked' and 'Crazy Rich Asians,' and produced by Marc Platt of 'La La Land' fame. Spears' memoir, released in October 2023, chronicles her rise to fame, her troubled conservatorship, and personal revelations, including her relationship with Justin Timberlake. The book has sold over 2.5 million copies and was narrated by Michelle Williams for the audiobook edition. Spears expressed her excitement about the project on social media, teasing it as a 'secret project' with Platt.
