Quiz Clothing enters administration, loses 200 jobs

Quiz Clothing has entered administration, leading to the closure of 23 stores and the loss of approximately 200 jobs, although a significant portion of its 1,500 workforce is expected to be retained under new ownership. The retailer appointed Teneo as administrator for Zandra Retail, which operates its standalone stores in the UK and Ireland, following ongoing financial struggles that culminated in a £4.7 million pre-tax loss for the six months leading to September 2024. A pre-pack administration deal will allow the founding Ramzan family’s subsidiary, Orion Retail, to acquire the remaining assets and continue operations at 42 locations. CEO Sheraz Ramzan expressed regret over the store closures but emphasized that the decision aims to secure a more sustainable future for the company. This move reflects broader challenges in the retail sector, as many businesses face rising costs and shifting consumer behavior. The company's online and international operations will remain unaffected by this restructuring.
