This apology was included in an amended lawsuit Lively filed against co-star and director Justin Baldoni, amid allegations of a 'smear campaign' against her. In her email to Hall, Lively expressed regret for overshadowing Hall's work and acknowledged that her comments had led to media scrutiny and questions directed at Hall. Lively stated that her intention was to celebrate her husband's involvement, not to undermine Hall's contributions. Additionally, the amended complaint contains serious allegations against Baldoni and producer Steve Sarowitz, including inappropriate comparisons and threats related to Lively's reputation. The film, based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, has faced controversy even before its upcoming premiere.
