Ukraine Unveils Long-Range Palianytsia Weapon

Ukraine has unveiled a new long-range weapon named Palianytsia, which combines missile and drone technology, allowing it to strike deep into Russian territory without needing approval from its allies. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov emphasized that this weapon was developed out of urgent necessity due to the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the weapon's existence on Ukraine's 33rd independence anniversary and noted its successful first use against a Russian military installation. The Palianytsia is said to have a range of up to 700 kilometers, making it capable of targeting numerous Russian airfields. Ukrainian officials believe this advancement will enhance their military response capabilities and aim to disrupt Russian air operations, which have heavily affected civilian areas. As Ukraine continues to bolster its defense capabilities, the development highlights the growing role of its domestic arms industry in the conflict.
