Jane Figueiredo Wins IOC Coaches Award

Diving coach Jane Figueiredo has been awarded the International Olympic Committee's 2024 Coaches Lifetime Achievement Award, alongside pole vault coach Vitaliy Petrov, recognizing their significant contributions to their sports and the athletes they coach. Figueiredo's coaching has led to seven Olympic medals, including three for British diver Tom Daley, and her athletes secured numerous medals at the recent Paris Olympics. In 2024 alone, her divers achieved historic success, including Team GB's first medal of the Games with a bronze in women's 3m synchro. The awards, presented in Lausanne, were attended by IOC President Thomas Bach, acknowledging the dedication of both coaches in their fields. Figueiredo expressed gratitude for the award and highlighted the importance of teamwork and the legacy she aims to leave for future female coaches. Petrov's work has also been notable, with his athletes setting 36 world records and winning multiple Olympic and World Championship titles.
