NYC Marathon 2025 Draws 50,000 Runners, Celebrates Global Participation Across Five Boroughs

The 2025 TCS New York City Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 3, featuring a 26.2-mile route that traverses all five boroughs starting from Staten Island and finishing in Central Park. The marathon weekend kicks off on Friday, October 31, with an Opening Ceremony on the Upper West Side, including speeches, honors, performances, and a Parade of Nations representing nearly 150 countries. Notable events include the induction of Olympian Jenny Simpson into the NYRR Hall of Fame and the presentation of the Abebe Bikila Award to South African long-distance runner Willie Mtolo. More than 50,000 runners, including several celebrities from Broadway, film, and music, will participate, raising funds for charities and pursuing personal goals. Spectators can watch the race along the route, especially on Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn and inside Central Park near the finish line, with over two million expected to line the course.
