Death Valley Filming Begins Wales for Record-Breaking Series 2

The BBC's hit comedy-drama 'Death Valley' has been officially renewed for a second series, with filming commencing this week in Wales. The show stars Timothy Spall as John Chapel, a grumpy retired actor, and Gwyneth Keyworth as DS Janie Mallowan, a sharp Welsh detective; their unlikely partnership solves crimes in rural South Wales with a mix of humor and suspense. The first series was a major success, achieving the largest UK overnight audience for a new scripted show in five years and averaging 4.6 million viewers over 28 days, also becoming one of BritBox North America's top titles. Creator and writer Paul Doolan expressed excitement about continuing the story, promising more mischief and complex murder cases, while both Spall and Keyworth shared enthusiasm for reprising their roles. The returning ensemble cast includes Alexandria Riley, Steffan Rhodri, Melanie Walters, and Rithvik Andugula. The new series will consist of six 45-minute episodes and will be available on BBC One, iPlayer, and BritBox.
