Majority of Global Businesses Endorse E-Invoicing Benefits Despite Implementation Challenges

Recent research and industry input highlight a strong global and UK-based business consensus on the benefits of e-invoicing mandates, emphasizing improvements in financial performance, operational efficiency, and data accuracy. The Chartered Institute of Taxation advises the UK government to incentivize businesses, especially smaller ones, to adopt digital invoicing gradually to avoid costly burdens, aligning with widespread business support for such mandates. Studies by Vertex Inc. show that 79-87% of tax and finance leaders globally, including in the UK, North America, and Ireland, view e-invoicing mandates as beneficial, driving cost savings, enhanced compliance, and stronger financial health. Businesses acknowledge challenges such as staff training and system integration, but many plan to improve e-invoicing infrastructure to meet evolving regulatory demands and leverage digital transformation. With a significant portion of sales at risk without e-invoicing capabilities, companies are urged to prepare proactively, especially those engaged in international trade where mandates are increasingly common.
