Freaky Friday Sequel Set for 2025 Release

Disney has announced that the sequel to the beloved 2003 film Freaky Friday, titled Freakier Friday, is set to hit theaters on August 8, 2025. The film will feature original stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, who will reprise their roles as Tess and Anna, respectively, and will include new characters played by Julia Butters and Manny Jacinto. Lohan expressed excitement about reuniting with Curtis, calling her a great friend and emphasizing the fun atmosphere on set. The sequel will explore themes of body-swapping once again, this time involving Tess and Anna trading places with two 14-year-old girls, Harper and Lily. Filming began in June and wrapped up in late August 2023, with director Nisha Ganatra at the helm.
