Montana Selects Dawn Sievers as Teacher of the Year

Educational excellence and innovation were celebrated across several states as notable teachers received recognition for their contributions. In Illinois, State Superintendent Dr. Tony Sanders visited the Oregon School District to appreciate their achievements and initiatives, highlighting the dedication of students and staff (WREX). In Colorado, Janet Damon was named Teacher of the Year for her impactful work on social issues and community engagement, including co-founding a book club and organizing outdoor activities (Axios). Similarly, Kristen LoPrell was honored as one of California's Teachers of the Year for transforming students' attitudes towards mathematics and fostering a sense of belonging (Times of San Diego). Montana's Teacher of the Year, Dawn Sievers, was acknowledged for her dedication to teaching middle school English, Spanish, and Art, emphasizing the need for a supportive teaching community (MTPR).
